Should Chuck Liddell Retire?
More UFC tickets have been sold because of Chuck Liddell. Ever since his reign as the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, Chuck Liddell has been the UFC’s greatest commodity. A terrific puncher with an outstanding ability to defend the takedown. Chuck is second to none even though he is one of the oldest UFC fighters. Chuck is known as the "Iceman" because of what he does best – Knock outs.
Recently however, Chuck Liddell has been on the knockout receiving end ot things in in three consecutive fights. First with a devastating right hand from Quinton "Rampage" Jackson followed by an overhand right from Heavy Weight "Sugar" Rashad Evans – a picture that surely left impressions in everyone’s head and will probably be remembered as one of the most vicious knockouts in UFC history. Then there was his most recent loss to Light Heavy Weight contender Mauricio "Shogun" Rua via a vicious left hook.
It looked like that would be Chuck’s last UFC fight. However, further investigation revealed that Liddell does indeed have one fight left on his UFC contract. Dana White, UFC President, though Chuck should retire for his own well-being. So, what do you think? Should Chuck Liddell retire?
The answer is not as clear cut as you may think. Many fellow fighters, including Randy "The Natural" Couture have been adamant about Liddell being able to retire on his own terms. Even Anderson "The Spider" Silva has remarked that Liddell should be able to decide. However, others like Rashad Evans have been vocal about the Iceman retiring stating that age has a detrimental effect on an individuals ability to fight. Regardless of their thoughts, everyone seems to agree that they don’t want to see Chuck get hurt, no one more so than long time friend Dana White. But with the recent feud between Dana and his other long time friend John Hackleman, there seems to be speculation that Liddell may not roll over that easy.

There is also no question that Liddell came out against Rua in the best shape of his life, but is that enough anymore? Will Dana let him go and potentially let him be signed by rival company Affliction? Only time will tell; however, the decision is ultimately no ones except the Iceman’s.
